The Republic of Zambia

Zambia is a landlocked country in Southern Africa, bordered by the Democratic Republic of Congo, Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia, and Angola. With a total area of 752,618 square kilometres, Zambia is the 39th-largest country in the world.

The country gained independence from Britain on 24th October 1964, with Kenneth Kaunda as the first President. The national motto is "One Zambia, One Nation," reflecting the country's commitment to unity among its 73+ ethnic groups.

Zambia is known for the spectacular Victoria Falls (Mosi-oa-Tunya, "The Smoke that Thunders"), one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, vast wildlife reserves, and its warm and peaceful people.
