Zambia-Namibia Bilateral Relations Strengthened
The High Commission continues to foster strong diplomatic ties between the Republic of Zambia and the Republic of Namibia through bilateral cooperation.
The Zambian High Commission in Windhoek continues to play a pivotal role in strengthening bilateral relations between Zambia and Namibia. Both countries share a common border along the Zambezi River and have maintained excellent diplomatic relations since Namibia's independence in 1990.
Areas of cooperation include trade and investment, defence and security, education, health, tourism, and cultural exchange. The two nations are also members of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and work together on regional peace and security issues.
Recent bilateral discussions have focused on enhancing cross-border trade, improving transport infrastructure including the Kazungula Bridge, and expanding cooperation in mining, agriculture, and tourism sectors.
